The next meeting is on Child Protection training and will be held on Thursday 17 september. Dr Kerry Milligan, GP specialist from the GG&C Child Protection Unit will kindly join us as she has done in recent years for this meeting. Feel free to bring anonymised cases to discuss if you wish!

The venue is the LMC building, 40 New City Road, G4 9JT. A cold buffet will be served at 6:30pm and the talk will start at 7pm promptly. Please let us know in advance if you are coming (for catering and CPD certificates) by sending an email to admin@glasgowlocumgroup.org

We thought it would be helpful to mention a few points to help you get the most out of the GLG website.

1. DISCUSSION BOARD AND EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS: Most practices advertise via the discussion board and you can opt to receive email notifications of these posts to your registered email address.

If you haven't done so already, you can turn on your notifications / alerts by going into 'My profile' > 'Discussion options' > 'Email me when discussion item posted' and choose 'yes any posting'

2. CALENDAR AVAILABILITY: Some practices opt to search for available locums by date(s). In this method, available locums are shown in a list in order of most number of relevant dates available and most recently updated calendar. Practices then can contact locums individually. Keeping your calendar up to date will maximise the chances of being contacted.

3. HELP: For more information, go to 'Help & FAQ' section under 'Home'.

4. LOG IN: If you have had problems logging in, it might be that you are unable to establish a secure connection to the server. Consider updating your existing browser or downloading an alternative browser. Firefox and Google chrome appear to work better than Safari on some computers.

Dr Malcolm Shepherd, clinical lead for the West of Scotland anaphylaxsis service will be giving a talk on allergy. Please let us know at admin@glasgowlocumgroup.org if you are coming. Light buffet will be available.

Can I also ask all members to log in to the website if you haven't already done so? We need to know if you have any issues as our 'snagging' period is coming to an end. Our mailing list is also ending soon, 22nd May it will be no more, so make yourself familiar with the discussion boards and set your preferences.
